Delgado may be next superstar to get the axe

Carlos Delgado was benched finally due to his crappy play all around. I listen to the sports talk shows just about everyday and when it comes to the Mets the overall complaint is that Delgado is finished and GM Omar Minaya has to get rid of this bum. Delgado who had an unDelgado like year last year is even worse thus far this year. The difference now is that he is a year older and is a couple of months from being 36. At 36 you have to expect that he is regressing and a rebound is highly unlikely. Most likely he will be released because I really can't see anyone trading for him. The Yankees have someone like Delgado his name is Jason Giambi. The difference is Giambi is still a threat to go yard. All I ever see from Delgado now is a strikeout waiting to happen. So where do the Mets go from here? What options do they have? Do they stick it out with Delgado? I doubt it. Moises Alou maybe makes the switch to first in order to minimize his injuries? Perhaps. Bring someone up from the minors? I don't see it happening. With the way this team is underachieving a rookie wouldn't help with the hitting. No they need a veteran pressence. I see a trade being made to get an established but cheap option at first. Maybe someone like Kevin Millar out of Baltimore. Dan Johnson who recently cleared waivers can probably be obtained real cheap. So Omar its your move. Clock is ticking.
