Rangers win a big game tonight but that's not what the story is

The story is how I'm starting to be convinced that the NHL is pulling for the next one Sidney Crosby to sell the league. He is getting the Gretzky treatment which if you're not a fan means if you touch him in the slightest way it's two minutes in the box for you. I can not believe that with all the skill this man has that the league would have to baby him. He doesn't need it. The kid is young and can take a shot. Part of the game is hitting. If you take that away from the defense then you're robbing the game. I know the league has a hard time selling itself and that is a blog for another day but sell the game as it is. I'm just tired of superstars being protected for no reason. If that is going to be the case then the only players that should be allowed on the ice should on be forwards. No defense. So that takes care of the slow defense men who have to hit people to stop them. We don't want that. Hell we could even take the sticks away from the goalies too that will help. We have to sell the sport and goals sell because it's sexy. So every time I see the refs call a penalty because of a light tap on a superstar then it's not worth watching the game anymore. The game is fine.

The curtain rises one last time for the big ballpark in the Bronx

It's just about game time as the New York Yankees will host the Toronto Bluejays as the Yankees will open the season for the final time in the cathedral know as Yankee Stadium or simply to all of us fans as "the stadium". Yes this season will no doubt bring us fans an overload of memories that we've collected over the years. I know for me being a season ticket holder I've seen some great games. My favorite memory was when I was at the 2001 world series game 5. The Scotty Brosius game. I never felt the stadium shake like that before. It felt like an earthquake. Lots of memories. Some great and some not so great. I wont dwell on the bad times but only on the good times. Those that I've shared in and those that I will share in this season. What memories do you have of the stadium?
