Not everything lately in Yankee Universe is bad. Tonight Bobby Murcer returns to broadcast the game. That is great news and speaking for every fan it is great to have him back. I'm sure that during the game they will show him on the big screen so everybody there will give him a big cheer.
The 61-year-old former Yankee was at the Stadium yesterday, renewing acquaintances and preparing for tonight's YES broadcast of the Yankees-Mariners game.
Murcer, who underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor before the start of last season, said he is cancer-free and anticipating working his full schedule for YES, in the booth and studio.
"They've got me on steroids - I probably shouldn't use that word," Murcer said. "It looks like we've got [the cancer] under control."
