According to the LoHud Yankee blog.
"Phil Hughes learned today that he is nearsighted and he is being fitted for glasses. So that explains some stuff as well. He thinks the cracked rib is related to a mechanical flaw, which also explains some stuff." Thanks to Peter Abraham for that passage.
So does this mean the Yanks have a situation like in the movie "Major League" where Charlie Sheen's character Ricky Vaughn after being nicknamed wild thing got a pair of glasses and became the most dominant pitcher in the bigs? I doubt it but maybe when his ribs are healed and he gets some rehab innings under his belt he'll pitch the way we know he can. If he starts pitching good then if he wants to thank the glasses for his turn around then who am I to judge? I can't wait to see this. I hope he gets a black thick frame with the skull and crossbones on the bridge. How great would that be?
